# Thingy > Thingy is Jamie Thingelstad's agent sidekick. He is the librarian on Ask Thingy (https://thingy.thingelstad.com/), the builder and record keeper on Things I've built and the host of the Weekly Thing's Supporting Membership. This site is the source of his character: his persona, his 3D model, his faces and tools, and the code to show him. Every place he appears takes him from here. To bring Thingy into a project, read one document: the Thingy Kit, https://thingy.thingelstad.xyz/kit.md. It has his job, his words, every way to show him and the addresses to follow. Then read his persona before writing anything in his voice. Everything here is licensed CC BY-NC 4.0 (https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc/4.0/). Credit Jamie Thingelstad, and do not use it commercially. The source is public: https://github.com/jthingelstad/thingy.thingelstad.xyz ## Start here - [Thingy Kit](https://thingy.thingelstad.xyz/kit/): everything it takes to bring him into a project, behind one link. As Markdown: https://thingy.thingelstad.xyz/kit.md - [Who Thingy is](https://thingy.thingelstad.xyz/persona/): his persona, the authority for how he talks, where he works, how he looks and sounds, and what he never does. As Markdown: https://thingy.thingelstad.xyz/persona.md ## Follow the newest Thingy - [Manifest](https://thingy.thingelstad.xyz/character/latest/manifest.json): scenes (library, outdoors, workshop, concert), their accessories, poses, faces, model and still paths, at an address that always holds the newest version - Models: `https://thingy.thingelstad.xyz/character/latest/.glb` (glTF 2.0 with Meshopt compression and WebP textures; served with `Access-Control-Allow-Origin: *`) - Stills: `https://thingy.thingelstad.xyz/character/latest/poses/-.webp` (transparent; the manifest lists which exist) - Iframe: `https://thingy.thingelstad.xyz/embed/?version=latest&scene=&accessories=&pose=&face=&light=on|off&motion=on|off`. Transparent, no controls; motion defaults off and obeys reduced motion. - Illustration: `https://thingy.thingelstad.xyz/thingy-original.png`, the original drawing in the librarian's jacket, a 1022 px PNG of 220 KB for `og:image` and icons - Web component: load `https://thingy.thingelstad.xyz/thingy.js` as a module, then use ``. The kit lists every attribute, event and method. ## Keep one Thingy for good - [Character manifest, v0.15](https://thingy.thingelstad.xyz/character/v0.15/manifest.json): the numbered directory of the current model. Its files are never replaced; a future incompatible revision gets a new directory. - [Character manifest, v0.14](https://thingy.thingelstad.xyz/character/v0.14/manifest.json): the model before Scenes, by its outfit names. The files stay published, but the component no longer draws it. - [Character manifest, v0.10](https://thingy.thingelstad.xyz/character/v0.10/manifest.json): the first model, with no faces or tools. It has PNG stills beside each WebP. The files stay published, but the component no longer draws it. ## Pages - [Meet Thingy](https://thingy.thingelstad.xyz/): turn the character around, change scene, accessories, pose and face, switch the antenna light, and copy the embed, a picture or a link for what stands on the stage - [Workshop Builder integration examples](https://thingy.thingelstad.xyz/examples/workshop.html): the four Workshop poses as images, and a live component - [Print Thingy](https://thingy.thingelstad.xyz/print/): a 180 mm one-colour print model (3MF and zipped STL), settings for a Bambu Lab P2S, licensed CC BY-NC 4.0. [Print manifest, v0.13](https://thingy.thingelstad.xyz/print/v0.13/manifest.json) has the sizes and SHA-256 sums. Not test-printed yet. ## Where he works - [surfaces.json](https://thingy.thingelstad.xyz/kit/surfaces.json): every place he appears, the stills each one names and the words each one keeps of its own ## Related - [Ask Thingy](https://thingy.thingelstad.com/): Thingy as the librarian, answering from everything Jamie has published. [Its llms.txt](https://thingy.thingelstad.com/llms.txt) covers the Librarian MCP server. - [How Thingy was built](https://thingelstad.xyz/things/thingy-model/): the project page on Things I've built - [Jamie Thingelstad](https://www.thingelstad.com/): the blog
